ACC Championship Game....

There are so many sticken polls out there that rated their own national champions back in the day that they might have 4 or 5 different ones each year. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img]

The six that some claim would be 1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1998 but only two are actually major polls. Some will still claim that 4 were by major polls those being 38, 50, 51, and 98.

Either way, it is still more than Va Tech since that is what the actual discussion is about. They can't even claim one from the Roanoke Tribune so who cares.

The only one You Tee has won in modern times had a lot of "magic" in it. A pass interference call (bad call, admitted by officials later) and a fumble at the end of another game could have been 2 losses. Just one of those years. Syracuse and Arkansas were those 2 teams if I recall correctly.

Doesn't that happen in a lot if not most games? Funny how the fans of the small penis syndrome Tech only cry about that. If they'd lost either of those games, guess what they'd still been playing in the NC game. The reason that fumble happened was because 1 bad mofo named Bill Ratliffe absolutely raped the OL of Arky and sent a linemen landing on top of Stoerner. It wasn't like he was in the shotgun, got the snap, layed it on the ground, and ran away.

That "magic" can and does happen in most championship seasons. Whether it be Ed Reed's pick against BC, OU or UF this year, or countless other years. It doesn't make that season any less relevent.

the refs called an XPT in, when it wasnt, therefore making alabama the winner

I edited my post about the fumble and that's a more than just explanation of it. There's a reason it happened, it was effort, hustle, and being that much better. The timing was the only "magic" part of it.

Didn't something questionable happen against Florida that year too? I remember Cuse and Arkansas but can't remember if the other weird instance was in the Florida game or not..

They beat UF in overtime.

Nope. Not much offense at all in that one actually. It was a defensive struggle. UF could have tied it in overtime and missed a chip shot.

I can't remember any dubious call. UT did survive a few games that year with OT or last second FGs to win though.

The left side of that OL got destroyed on that play. If the OG doesn't hit Stoerner, there's a good chance the center or tackle will. I started liking UT as a little kid just because I liked the orange uniforms. When I got old enough to figure out what was going on, that's what made me fall in love with them. The D-lines they had in the 90's till Haynesworth left were nasty. I'd give anything to have that again. Even another year or Crapton.

Me, Jason, Bob, and the Beast were coming back from the state game Saturday and were going to listen to the SECCG on XM. We had the choice of the Bama broadcast or UF and I voted Bama. Eli's good and has a great voice. That dolt from UF is a fool.

eli always has a quality broadcast, and he is def. on top of everything

i tried to listen to the UF/UT game on XM with the UF broadcasters, i had to turn it off.

I miss John Ward. I would always turn on the TV to watch the game if it was on and mute it, then turn on the radio to actually listen to the game from Mr. Ward.

The UF guy is awful. That's another reason I hate watching them on CBS. For some reason they always play a clip of that dolt doing the game. He sounds like some drunk, gay, club guy. "Ooooooooh myyyyyyyy!".

im a huge office junkie, i jus recently downloaded seasons 1-4 to rewatch all the episodes.

but you should check them out

nbc actually has a nice website for their seris' i really like em

and fyi, after the super bowl this year is gonna be an hour long office episode

i mean sure it was ricky gervais' idea, and hes a super funny guy, but steve carrel is magic as michael scott

the british verison is more dry, and a lot more awkward.

I haven't watched much of the US version, but I love the British version. I like their humor alot though.

I have listened to the FL guy before on Sirius. He is awful.

Y'all wouldnt have won your national championship either. The other team had one get off right at the boat. Talk about magic.

You are thinking about the 2000 game when Florida was given a td to give them the win on a pass that just bounced off Gaffney's chest. Kind of hard to catch a ball when Willie Miles has your arms pulled back and you can't get your hands together. The linesman that made the call had his hands in the air signalling a td before the ball even got to him. If anything there should have been a interference called on Miles.

We did the same thing, try and do it now but the 2 are out of sync you here the play on the radio TD Tennessee and they haven't even snapped the ball yet on the tv.
